I love whisky. That's not a bad opening sentence, or what?
I only wish I had more moolah in my wallet to buy whatever
whisky there is available. To these pages I've gathered my
(and my mate GuruMummu's) ratings. Just remember that
you don't have to take the ratings too seriously because
these are just our opinions. If do you find the ratings
helpful of course it would be great.
Nevertheless Talisker 10 is (now) my favourite single malt,
I'm openminded to any whisky and recommend you to try
as many as possible. Don't be stuck only on one brand...
Oh, and remember about the ratings: feel free to think differently.

HOW I EVALUATE WHISKIES:

NOSING & TASTING:
Nose feel: peppery, sharp, pungent, soft, warm
Primary taste: bitter, salty, sour, sweet
Mouth feel: full-, medium- or light-bodied

• The aroma chart used by Porin Mallasviskin Ystδvδt

• The aroma chart taken from David Wishart's book

• The aroma wheel by Whisky Magazine

Note! You can use a description of whatever aroma or flavour that comes into your mind.

FINISH & AFTERTASTE:
Long, medium, short (+ description).

BALANCE:
How nose, taste and finish/aftertaste function together; is the whisky complex or too one-sided; is some aspect too dominating etc. etc.

All areas (nosing, tasting, finish/aftertaste & balance) are then given max. 25 points. Those points are then added together and that number determines the overall rating.
